Athlete Spot Light
Coming from an athletic background in running, Virginia was looking to increase her strength when she joined JonesN4 CrossFit 6 months ago. Despite her busy schedule, she still manages to get her daily workouts in as a dedicated 5:00am class participant. We’d say she’s definitely getting stronger AND just signed up for her very first CrossFit competition. We can’t wait to see where she is in another 6 months. Congratulations, Virginia!

Do you have any background in athletics, such as playing high school or college sports? If so, what?
Soccer and Basketball
Do you participate in any sports or other physical activities other than CrossFit?
I run—currently training for a half marathon and a full marathon. I also hike and walk my dog.
What led you to begin CrossFitting?
I needed a challenge and a change. Running was and is fun, but I wanted to build strength and lift heavy weight. The different WOD’s, coaches, and overall community are so welcoming and supportive, and I truly needed that change.
What are your current fitness goals, and how has CrossFit helped you achieve them?
I want to develop strength, muscle, and mobility. The WOD’s change daily, therefore the take me out of my comfort zone and make me push harder every day. I truly enjoy it and love the pain :-)
What is your favorite WOD or movement?
Back Squats, Deadlifts…Community WOD’s are FUN
What is your least favorite WOD or movement?
Overhead Squats and Box Jumps
