I don't have time to exercise
When it comes to exercise, one of the most common excuses that we hear, or perhaps have used ourselves is, “I’d love to make it to class, but I just don’t have time.” Really? Is that truly the case? Do you not have time OR are you not making it a priority? Try saying this instead: “I’d love to make it to class, but it’s just not a priority.” Not really what you want to hear, right? But, most likely a little closer to the truth.
We get it—you’re busy, and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to make time to work out. Time is a precious resource, and you’re right, you can’t MAKE more time…but you can FIND more time. It’s a common practice to keep a food journal when trying to clean up your diet—do the same thing with your schedule.
Here at Jones N4 Crossfit, we recommend keeping a time journal to track how you spend your day. Seriously, try it! Over the next three or four days, keep a journal of everything you do. It may seem difficult, but if you write down activities you do in 30 to 60 minute blocks, it becomes really easy to track your time.
Once you have completed your three or four days of journaling, take a good look at where you are spending your time. How much time are you spending on social media? Watching Netflix? “Working,” but not really working? You might be surprised at just how much time you can FIND to exercise.
At Jones N4 Crossfit, we offer classes in early morning, noon, and every evening—surely you can find an hour to come join us for a workout. How you choose to spend your time defines your priorities. Find the time, and make working out a priority.
